Cigars Explained
Welcome to Our Curated Cigar Collection
We’ve tested hundreds of cigars and handpicked the top 29 for you. Unlike other sites with thousands of options and impossible to use filters (I mean really, even if you do smoke cigars, who wants to filter by brand first!), we believe in keeping things simple, making it easy for you to find something you'll love.
We Don't Stock Filler
We’ve personally smoked every cigar on this site (and a hell of a lot more) to ensure that every selection is of the highest quality. If we found any issues – be it flavour, an uneven burn, or construction problems – we didn’t hesitate to cut it from the list. You can trust that each cigar we offer has passed our rigorous standards.
Understanding our filters
Understanding Cigar Strength
Strength refers to the nicotine content in a cigar. We’ve rated our cigars on a 1 to 5 scale, with 1 being mild and 5 being strong.
How to find the right cigar strength for you
La Aroura Principes Long Filler Claro Robusto |
Perdomo 10th Anniversary Connecticut Robusto |
Joya De Nicaragua Clasico Seleccion B |
A.J.F Blend 15 Short Robusto |
La Aurora Principes Long Filler Maduro Robusto |
Drew Estate Undercrown Shade Robusto |
Keep in mind
- Just because you can handle stronger nicotine doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy a milder cigar.
- Each cigar has its own unique flavour profile, and strength only affects the nicotine intake, not the taste.
- This filter is designed to prevent you from accidently picking a cigar that might be a bit too much, it doesn’t stop you from going down a rung and seeing what’s out there.
- If you're newer to nicotine but want to try something stronger, don't feel pressured to finish the cigar in one sitting. It's perfectly fine to take breaks and relight it as needed.
Understanding Cigar Body
Body refers to the intensity of the cigar’s flavour, and it's a bit more subjective. A helpful way to gauge what you might like is to compare it to your preferences for coffee, chocolate, or alcohol.
La Aroura Principes Long Filler Claro Robusto |
Perdomo 10th Anniversary Connecticut Robusto |
Joya De Nicaragua Clasico Seleccion B |
Caldwell The King Is Dead Manzanita |
Alec Bradley Black Market Esteli Punk |
A.J.F Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Maestro |
La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull |
La Flor Dominicana El Carajon |
Joya De Nicaragua Cinco De Cinco |
Keep in mind
- These are general guidelines.
- You might love a light cigar even if you prefer dark chocolate, and vice versa.
- The key is to experiment and find what works for you.
- At CaLaDa we have a wide range of smaller options in a variety of flavour intensities to help you to work out what you might like.
- Try our beginner pack, with a Mild, Medium and Full bodied cigar at a nice discount to help you work out what you like
Understanding Country of Origin
For most people, the country of origin might not mean much unless you’re already familiar with your preferences. But if you’re looking to explore cigars from different regions, this filter lets you take a journey through Latin America. Each country has subtle differences in tobacco, but all offer something unique to discover.
Casa Turrent 1880 Claro Lancero (Mexico) |
Alec Bradley Prensado Corona Gorda (Honduras) |
Oliva Serie V Melanio Robusto (Nicaragua) |
Understanding Smoke Time
How much time do you have? Whether you're planning a two-hour evening with friends, a 45-minute walk with the dogs, or a quick half-hour break, this filter will help you find the right cigar for the occasion.
A.J.F New World Oscuro Petit Corona (35 min) |
Perdomo 10th Anniversary Connecticut Robusto (60 Min) |
La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull (120+ min) |
Understanding £/Minute
This filter is for the budget-conscious. A £30 cigar might seem expensive, but this tool helps you see the cost relative to the enjoyment you’ll get from it. Cigars can be a surprisingly affordable luxury, especially compared to other indulgences like a pint of beer.
