In Spanish, dorado means golden, the Aj Fernandez New World Dorado definitely lives up to that opulence. With a big gold band around the body and yet another gold ribbon wrapped around the foot just for that little extra je ne sais quoi, this rather large offering fits nicely in the hand and shows everyone that you mean business.

Flavour wise, the new world dorado comes out swinging with a massive hit of hot chilli pepper on the initial light that soon subsides down to something more manageable bringing in some lovely sweet roasty toasty flavours that had me smacking my lips to delve deeper. 

In the last 5 centimetres or so this cigar develops into a really deep dark complex intensity that remains remarkably smooth and gentle, even with the solid hit of nicotine the new world dorado never gains any harshness.

I only put this one down because I was burning my fingers towards the end, and genuinely contemplated lighting up another, truly a dorado experience.
