This is another of the Serie 1926 family, a line built around aged Nicaraguan tobacco and produced in intentionally limited quantities.

The box-pressed format is firm and precise, wrapped in a dark, oily maduro leaf with a slightly rugged texture that hints at its intensity.

The draw is smooth. Burn performance is steady and reliable, with very little intervention needed once it’s lit.

Flavours of dry cocoa and toasted nut notes. There’s a natural raisin like sweetness sitting underneath that softens the darker elements and stops the profile from becoming too rigid or bitter.

As it moves through the first half, cedar and earthy spice begin to build into the structure. The coffee core remains constant, while the sweeter notes gradually step back, allowing a drier, more savoury character to take over. A light pepper presence runs through the background, adding edge without dominating.

The middle section is where balance becomes most apparent. Cocoa, coffee and cedar sit together in a steady rotation, with occasional flashes of sweetness returning on the finish. The strength is clearly present but remains controlled, never tipping into harshness.

The final third leans more into earth and spice, with leather tones emerging alongside a lingering espresso finish. Despite the full body, the cigar remains composed right to the end, maintaining clarity of flavour rather than collapsing into bitterness.

Overall, this is a cigar defined by structure and depth rather than volatility. Rich, steady and uncompromising, it delivers a classic Padrón profile with a focus on balance and controlled intensity rather than dramatic change.

Cigar aficionado rated it 93/100 and made it their cigar of the year in 2004
